Ultimate Responsibility

“Marriage is a great institution. No family should be without it.”
Mae West

An old married couple should not be treated any different from a young married couple.

In hospital, we should start asking,

“Where is the wife/husband of this old man/woman? I would like to talk to him/her”.

While we can rely on our children to take care of us as we age, I believe that the ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY should rest upon the shoulders of our other half, unless they too are critically ill or deceased.

Our children will grow up one day to have their own families. They will eventually leave their nests. Thus, who else would we spend the rest of our days if it wasnt with the person we got married to in the first place, right?
