A lazy mammal I am

“A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult”

MELINDA GATES, Woman’s Day Magazine, Oct. 2, 2007

Im going to work again tomorrow after a long hiatus. It would have been easier to come back to a familiar place. Where people you know will gleam at your presence saying “Hi! Welcome back!” or “Hows the baby?”  or “dont sweat too much, its your first day back to work”.

barulah semangat balik kerja

Instead, Im in a new place. God knows if I have to serve in a very far-from-anaesthesia sort of department! Then, I have to forge new friendships and inevitably accumulate new enemies. Its like starting high school again and it sucks!!!

But thats the way of life. Change is constant. I only hope that I wouldnt make a dumb statement and therein labeled useless for the rest of my working career in this state.

All this ‘personal sacrifice’ in the name of love. Responsibility. TAAT.  Despite the reluctance, I also do not wish to become women who will regret their decisions in terms of choosing family over career. Because that is what usually happens to working mothers. They would reminisce on their past and say things like,” If I wasnt pregnant.. I would have achieved this and that ” or “if it wasnt for your father, I would have bla bla bla”

If possible, I would like to look back and say ,

‘Im glad things turned out the way they did and I am happy with who Im with and what I have right now. Alhamdulilah”
