The Birthday & Wedding Anniversaire Weekend

My nephew’s birthday bash was held at Sama Sama Hotel on the 30th December. It was a hi-tea get together. One of the best spreads I have to say. Too indulged in eating that I didn’t get to snap any photos of the food. macam biasa.. it is a mix of western and eastern dishes.

My sister arranged the perfect birthday celebration for her son – we had a clown coming to our table giving out balloons, them staff singing a birthday song while bringing his cake and so on. I  would be happy if I was this boy. Plus you get presents from everyone.

“ADIL.. please listen to your mother and love her with all your heart”

The Weekend Hi-Tea buffet is from 1200 Noon till 4PM.

Adults rate  RM 65. Children rate RM 45 . Unfortunately there is no senior citizen discount.

After the partay – my own party of 4 headed to Seremban for the anniversaire getaway. Brutally honestly speaking – I was not looking forward to go. I was not in a mood to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I know, it’s evil. I even hid a post that Mr Husband tagged me on Facebook from my timeline. That’s how not in the mood I was.

WHY MINCI WHY?

You may ask. Maybe it’s because I was physically tired (and in pain – nipple sore stuff). Emotionally drained. Lonely. No animated gossip. No one to have a proper conversation. Mr Husband busy, busy, busy with studies and locum (kesian kt owner katanya) Ha ha ha. Sometimes as a new mother, you just need an hour out of the day to do your own thing. Like doing proper exercise, sip coffee slowly, get properly dressed and stuff. Or even draft a blog post. Or paling cikai.. an IG story. Thats is one cause I think – did not get that one hour stuff as much as I’d envisioned it to be. Max is like 45 mins. Huhu.

Or maybe it’s because I want to celebrate it with just him. The Husband. Without the kids in the picture. I mean, we can bring the kids along to the hotel but you know, at least a Couple WefIe by the pool. Or a little muffin cake to share between us two. Something to remind ourselves that we were once head over heels over each other? That there was once an US before the kids come along. In retrospective, maybe I should have made the move tapi ntahlah.. perhaps on our anniversary I was waiting for Chivalry and Gallant to drop by with Romantic. ohhh.. I forgot. it’s because I’m the sweet one in this relationship. Which is why it did not happen. muekekeke.

Takpelah.. we will try again this year (2018) for our 8th anniversary. Perhaps by this time I makin sexy. Aummm..  oh no sister.. spacing sister..spacing..

Back to Seremban, we checked into this budget hotel, SUTERA HOTEL, that has a swimming pool with no dress code. Thus why its quite a favourite amongst us Malaysians yang suka main redah je. it was a 3D2N stay.

Room was OK. breakfast buffet was adequate with the money we paid for , cuma the table arrangements made the restaurant a bit cramped. My obese tummy berlaga with the chairs. Like duh.. help.. I need to break free.

Location wise – AEON is nearby. A 2 minutes walk from the hotel – in case you need to find Pizza hut, KFC or McDonalds.

We did not get to eat the Nasi Arab. Baby Ninie is unable to stand long journey hours. Long would be more than 2.5 hours at a time. Wanting milk is fine. its when she poos it becomes a problem because some places do not have diaper changing facilities. Takkan nak tukar kat meja makan?? I don’t mind but what if my act was recorded and it went viral? DIE man DIe. So Mr Husband does the changing in places like these cause he can single handedly tonggeng the girl in the sink to wash the bum.

Babycall was not that bad. it was manageable but I’d rather do it at home. At least until she’s 4 to 5 months old?

yep, that’s about it. till the next post.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Our 6th Anniversary at Palm Garden Hotel, IOI City Resort

We stayed here for 2 nights : 31 December 2016 – 02 January 2017 and booked the Heliconia Twin Room which has 3 single beds in it. The total payment was MYR 458.00 which included breakfast for 2 people.

I made by booking through Agoda.Com and paid for it with my credit card. Checking in on a Saturday afternoon was a bit of a wait but all counters were open and reception staff was still able to manage a smile and a small pleasant conversation.

Our room was 117. There were no supernatural sightings or weird noises as reviewed by a visitor back in 2014. That particular review back then was so specific to mention room 107 & 202. We did hear the therapeutic sounds of the garden pool though.

Despite our many holidays and hotel stays – we were new to the Turndown Service. I thought that was interesting and a simple google search led me to various articles regarding this service. We didn’t require the service but it was good to know. The furniture in the room is a bit old but sturdy and the rooms electricity supply did not require us to put our card key into any form of slot. It was just the simple old fashioned main switch – God bless, I loved it.

I wanted to try the Tranquility Spa especially with the Happy Hour Promotion but the spa was fully booked. Damn.. they have a 50% discount on selected packages from 11AM to 3PM everyday. The catch is your session must be within that time frame. So you can’t really book a 1 hour massage at 230PM – it just doesn’t work that way. Maybe next time.

I was happy with the breakfast buffet although there have been suggestions to have more variety of food. What more can they add honestly? There’s already cereal, salad, fruits, local delicacies, western options.. are these people asking for kebabs? Laksa ?

The swimming pool was surprisingly very happening. My son feared water  – he can only swim in the bath tub. But looking at the crowd of young parents like ourselves bringing their kids, just shows that the pool is fun and a major attraction to families who choose this place. Plus, the view is great!

Parking space is abundant and guess what – IOI City Mall is just a <10 min walk from the hotel. The hotel also has a shuttle service to the mall that takes you less than 5 minutes to get there if walking is not your cup of tea.

Would I stay at this hotel again?

Definitely. Why not. And I’ll book the spa next time.

5th anniversary

This relationship with Mr Husband is probably the longest romantic one I’ve had as compared to the other candidates. That’s why we call it marriage. It also means we can fart in each other’s faces like no ones business. This also means I get away with certain things and ideas just because I’m the wife.

I am not going to dispense any advice because usia perkahwinan baru 5thn jagung – I shall leave that to other marriage gurus. I also do not wish to praise my husband because well.. I am sure every other wife too thinks that their husband is the best, the most understanding, a great cook and such.

I learnt one great tip about keeping the marriage going though. And that is to always BEREBUT-REBUT. Berebut to bathe Ee, berebut to bring the rubbish out (lol..seronoklah sangat..), berebut to prepare breakfast, berebut to do the laundry (this I would pretend), berebut to be the best in what we do and try to outperform each other when it comes to work and of course berebut to nourish the other half with love and respect. So far the extreme enthusiasm to berebut is not 100% but hey, the idea is there. Tee heee heee..

Enough with berebut, I too want to narrate my hopes for the coming year of our marriage.

DEAR HUSBAND,

  1. Let’s do another House Mega Project. After all our home is our Jannah. It keeps our friendship alive, we are spending our hard earned money for a good cause and of course it brings out the best in you – your so called interior designing skills.
  2. When you have your semester break, maybe we can travel the world again. I don’t need London. Lombok pun boleh.
  3. Continue to be Redha with my current job description as an ED and Anaes Medical Officer. I understand at times I am sloppy when it comes to housekeeping and home cooked meals (not that you request for a full course meal anyway), or I am late with the laundry and spend my weekends in the hospital because I am oncall. InsyaAllah I will find a way out of this plateau life – in fact if there is a recognized external exam for Anaesthesia I will study and sit for it. jgnlah ada
  4. Let me indulge in my hobbies – it seems that this time around it is revolving around planners, journals, scrapbooking and such. It will distract me from buying new tudung. Hihi.
  5. Ever consider trying for ‘adik Ee’?

Finally, be my best friend forever. Like ever and ever. Lets grow old together – probably making mistakes too along the way but still be able to laugh about them. cheers to being a team for the past 5 years – sometimes I can’t help being proud of myself for being able to spend my dreams and life with you. And putting up with your sarcasm.
