The Youtube channel for 2022

I think I mentioned some time ago that I have reactivated my YT channel because I shoot videos from time to time for my assignments at Open University Malaysia (OUM). I am getting a grasp of it and still sticking to the so-called silent vlog concept. This means I do not talk much in the video. The main theme is still lifestyle with a sprinkle of OUM. I did think of making OUM my niche vlog but thought that there wouldn’t be much material. Unless I am talented to make my own lo-fi tracks or something. Furthermore, I am not that aesthetic to be in front of the camera and do a Study With Me video.

As we enter May, I am glad to see that I have surpassed last year’s target of making 10 videos per year. I have also made improvements to the titles and thumbnails for the older videos. In fact, I am going for this life series concept – where my life has Seasons and Episodes. I have also put some videos as Unlisted for privacy. These are mainly the final products for my assignments. I still need to improve on the video descriptions. Experts say YouTubers starting out should maximize on keywords and hashtags.

2022 is indeed an interesting year to vlog.

Starting 2022 with the past

It was a mini celebration for the kid’s birthdays. To be honest, I still feel lemau and not up to socializing but for the fam – I will fight No Mood and get on with it. As a Youtube amateur, I managed to create more than 1 video for 2021. I was aiming for 10 but it was harder than what I perceived. The motivation needs to be there on top of great organization skills.

Afterwards, I need to get a pen and paper to sort my thoughts. The brain cells are a bit chaotic up there. I decluttered the blog’s followers the other day. I discovered that most of them seemed like bot accounts, a few were inactive and some appeared dodgy. So, I am back to nil followers today and see if the content I put in writing here is worth new subscribers in the upcoming months.

My mask acne cleared up – finally

Remember my Hermo Haul some time ago? I was on a quest to solve my acne troubles. Well, the problems solved but the star product wasn’t from any of the items I bought. Some of the skin care products helped but you could tell they were more as an adjunct and did not lend any significant improvements to my skin’s condition. I tried and implemented a few new things to my schedule/regime.

Lifestyle changes

  1. Drink more plain water – I am refilling my water bottle more often at work since we have the dispenser machine at the workplace. That helped a lot
  2. Manage time better – sleep better, plan my assignments so I wouldn’t have to cram every single thing in 2 weeks or so
  3. Change my 3 ply mask more often – it is now recommended to double mask to protect ourselves from new, vicious strains.

Self love

  1. I bought loose flowers for myself from this online florist – The Fine Flowers. Staring at the fresh flowers reminds me of my happy days as a medical student. Back then, I got mine from our local supermarket like ASDA. Loose flowers ni kira normal and keperluan utk omputih. In Malaysia, flowers mcm for special occasions je.. hence the steep pricing. Sedeh sis.
  2. Explore good music that uplifts the mood – as you can tell, my current obsession is BTS. If I can get over Take That and NSync when their time comes to part, I am sure I would be able to do the same for BTS. But please, tunggu sis naik 40. ha ha ha.

Invest in good skincare product

For now, from my previous hauls.. I am really loving Goodal’s Vitamin C toner pad and Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask. In fact, I am repeating the order for Goodal although it costs quite a bomb. It’s about RM88 without discount. Which means, another Hermo Haul coming soon. So, what is the star product that managed to solve my mask acne problem. It is actually a Japanese product that most Malaysian women have grown accustomed to. I have used this product before and due to it’s hefty price, decided to switch to a Korean brand. Turns out, these products are superior and well received because they do what they say.

It is SKII.

Sk-ii Pitera Welcome Kit By Sk-ii - 3 Pc 2.5oz Facial Treatment Essence 1oz Facial Treatment Clear Lotion 0.5oz Rna Radical New Age Cream, 3 Count- Buy Online in Bahamas at bahamas.desertcart.com.

Bought the welcome kit from an online store

It worked wonders in less than 2 weeks – I was delighted. Even the acne scars have become less pigmented. Throughout using this product, I didn’t use other beauty products, not even makeup except for the facial cleansers. I guess SKII is here to stay until I am 40. It has been giving me a youthful look so far. LOLS.

September Birthday Party

We didn’t really get to do a big celebration (Peringkat Jenjarom) for my birthday in August due to my semester exams. So we went for Hi Tea instead last weekend to lump in both August & September babies celebration.

Checked in Putrajaya Marriot Hotel

I wanted to splurge and pamper myself. So I booked a room at this 5 star hotel with free breakfast for two. It had the usual amenities expected from this high end abode . There’s FREE WIFI, complimentary beverages, good entertainment, luxurious looking toileteries, a bathtub, a Super King bed, a sofa (fit for Ee) and a beautiful view. The receptionist was super helpful too. Said he was from Batu Berendam.

Price per night from it’s own website : RM225/night.

It was a very big room. After the husband and kids retired to bed, I soaked myself in the tub using the Doterra Spa Bodywash. I even put on Spotify in the bathroom for ambience. I enjoyed the view and the late night brew.

The next morning we had breakfast at The Zest, the house restaurant. Ee’s rate was originally RM28 ( children) but being the house guest, he had a 30% discount. Hence, I spent only RM19.80 for his breakfast and it was a buffet! The spread was wonderful and tasty although husband said there was something wrong with the pastries that morning. A bit hard he said.

I wish I had more days off to just enjoy the hotel facilities and cafes. Alas, I have other matters to attend to. We checked out at 11 am the next day and I bought the birthday cake from Marriot’s in house cafe – The Oracle. It was an RM88 Orange Chocolate mousse cake yang tak sedap. So, jangan beli. Ha ha ha.

Hi Tea at Movenpick Hotel

Movenpick sounds very English. Hakikatnya, it is hotel tabung haji yang posh. We had a reservation for the Birthday Hi Tea at Temasya Restaurant. Although the selections were not huge, the readily available options were delicious enough. The Hi-Tea was served buffet style. Husband loved the Beriani. I loved the spaghetti, lamb, satay and well, almost everything.

Except maybe the desserts. Ada lain macam skit rasa jelly dia.

My sister, Nora and youngest brother, Matin enlisted the help of Shuke2 Planner to decorate our table. They also coordinated with the staff of Temasya Restaurant to sing the Happy Birthday song to my dad. What I did not expect was that I received a surprise chocolate bouquet as well! I was so not camera-ready as I did not have any makeup on and that my tudung is so kedut2. Damn those surprises.. although I secretly loved it.

Nora gave me a set of Mary Kay Hand Care set which I absolutely loved. It’s quite a routine just for your hands but I love the fragrance. I also received my backdated order of my MK feet lotion which emanates this minty sensation to it. My brothers gave me a chocolate bouquet and my mom gifted me a set of telekung with purple sejadah. Dad paid for the hi-tea. Ha ha ha.

The celebration does not end there as there are a few social engagements coming up. Lol.

  • November : Tok Teb, Matin & Ninie birthdays
  • December : Ee & Adils’ birthday, my 10th year wedding anniversary, KIV gender reveal party by Aunty L (Nora).

Until then, let’s doa for good health, good life and a world of happiness.
