She was late for her appointment. She was already 28 weeks into her pregnancy and upon entering the consultation room, she let out a loud sigh. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail and had a very ’emo’ sort of makeup on. I glanced at her pink antenatal book. She registered with an Indonesian passport and is also a single parent that had a few children before.
She was not compliant with her antenatal vitamins and she replied that she was not bothered. That it is all a waste of time. Every single piece of advice I gave to her was shut down with a reply that I felt was rude. It was difficult to counsel her properly as the rain was falling heavily on the glass window panes. Furthermore, she kept throwing me annoying glances that makes me lose my patience.
Suddenly a loud thunder was heard and the room turned dark. When the lights turned on again, she was not in her seat. Nor are other people in the room. It was just me in the silence. I walked up to the door wanting to make an exit and have a look outside the room when laughter broke out. I turned and saw that this time, all my furniture is gone and instead of my usual room, I was in a dark, big hall with only the moon as the source of light.
Interestingly, I was aware that this is a dream and I need to break out of this dream. I was also aware that I was having sleep paralysis because it was very difficult for me to recite ayat kursi and all the other ayats I could think of. I wasn’t sure where this dream is heading. All I knew was that I must wake up.
After a few repeats of the ayat, I managed to break away from the paralysis and immediately woke up. My own room was dark. Cause the strip of LED lights fell off. So, I turned on my table lamps for a better source of light because I felt uncomfortable. It’s like someone is there in the room, watching my every move. I was able to get back to sleep but this was one of those dreams that gets into my dream diary.
