Fantastic Four in Langkawi

wp-1530368277866..jpg

Langkawi is slowly becoming our annual family getaway. Alongside Krabi of course. In Langkawi, apart from the usual binge on Laksa, a visit to the Underwater World, Cable Car and Kompleks HIG  – we tried something new this year. The Langkawi Wildlife Park. I thought it was a fun place to bring the kids. Will blog in another entry.

We also stayed at a new hotel this year. Grand Continental Langkawi. Interesting experience on that. This also deserves another entry on its own. Senang skit nak search balik kang.

Since it’s Baby Ninie’s 1st trip on the plane – we were a bit anxious. There were a lot of What If She Cried Blood and screamed Murder on the plane? thoughts but she was fine. A bit fussy but under control. We changed her diapers just before she board and fed her just about when we were to land. She did not like the infant seatbelts but she’s too little to wiggle out – so padan muka. HA ha ha.

We drove from Melaka at 8AM. Stopped for breakfast at the RnR. Even had time to have a stroll at Mitsui Premium Outlet near KLIA. We left our car at the overnight parking area at Salak Tinggi and took the KL Transit Train from there to KLIA2 to board AirAsia flight to Langkawi by 3PM. The charge for the parking at Salak Tinggi was only RM5/night.

The journey from Salak Tinggi to KLIA2 itself took us less than 30 mins.

Overall, it was a very light and easy trip. Only one activity a day as we do not want to exert the baby. Not that she’s walking. LOL.

The Long Weekend – from Tambun and Cameron Highlands with love

Melaka had a 3 day holiday and so we took the opportunity to bring our kids to both Tambun and Cameron Highlands. As parents I think we were both equally, physically exhausted. BUT EMOTIONALLY ELATED. Ee had fun and I’m sure Ninie enjoyed the new environment stimulus.

Started the morning with McCafe. YUM

It was not easy travelling with a baby and a 7 year old. Thankfully Ee is not the type who would throw a tantrum in public. He is a silent protester though – like tak nak makan, tak nak participate, tak nak tu.. tak nak ni. All this done with his head hung low and melepek takde mood kinda face. Still manage to pisses me off sometimes.

wp-1524063119298..jpg

At Tambun, Mr Husband insisted on carrying Ninie in the body carrier padahal dah bwk stroller. Dahlah panas, pastu penat. Subsequently he doesn’t have the mood to play in the water. Hence Ee too doesn’t feel like playing in the water. Prior to this, we had always arrive at Tambun by 10am – only this time we were a bit late. This is our 3rd visit to Tambun. Maka matahari dah naik, orang dah ramai – in conclusion, tak berapa best when its only you and the kids. Especially the meragam puteri lilin baby.

wp-1524063238987..jpg

BUT do not get me wrong – TAMBUn is a fun place. We would still go but perhaps with better planning. It has a water park, a fun fair like area, mini rollercoaster, haunted house, petting zoo, lake activities, a spa, adventure parks with glamping sites and many more! All this for less than RM100 per entry for an adult with MYKID. We bought our tickets online and got our tickets for less than RM60. Kids less than 90cm gets to enter the park for free. Nice kan?

Cameron Highlands was physically exhausting as well. Nak sujud peha sakit. We went to the Brinchang Tea Plantation and of course our favourite Kea Strawberry Farm. We didn’t get to enjoy the strawberry related food this time because of the crowd but we managed to have Carrot Cake and a pot of tea at BOH Sungai Palas factory. Mr Husband macam biasa order carrot cake mcm bela arnab 100 ekor. Pastu penat nak makan. When I asked why did he have to order that much (2 slice kontot je pun) , he said a blogger reviewed it to be super delicious. OK. Fine.

The highlight of this trip was probably our hotel stay at Bedrock Hotel ( a review coming soon). It was a hotel I chose and splurged on because I do not want to risk Mr Husband booking hotel yg tah apa2. It was one of the best nights I had as I get to soak myself in an Epsom Salt bath with the Goblin OST playing in the background whilst the kids and husband is asleep. BLiss.

Travelling with kids requires proper planning in terms of the timing to enter the parks and interesting sites. Refreshments in the car. I was glad I brought mini plastic bags to keep Ninie’s diapers in the car. I wish I brought sugar cubes to further add taste to my tea and complimentary coffee in the hotel room. Mr Husband kinda used up all of it. Hmph. But it’s OK.. ni sume experience.

Zoo Melaka. With the baby this time.

Ninie has not been adventurous as a baby. Her older brother Ee, at her age have already had his first flight experience from Sarawak to KL. Ninie have not had that opportunity yet and I doubt she’ll get the chance to travel SEA countries as much as Ee. This is because Mr Husband is in a study program and his leave days are confined to only 14 days a semester. Even if we could clear our schedule, we have Ee’s formal schooling to think about.

But we did not want her to miss out on the fun. So we brought her to our favourite zoo. ZOO MELAKA.

TICKETS

ADULT (MYKAD) : RM15. CHILDREN (MYKID) : RM6

We arrived at 10AM on a Saturday morning just so we could beat the crowd. We had a heavy breakfast at home and brought our stroller. Baby Ninie is already 6.5Kg. Too heavy to put her in a carrier and walk.

Toilets were plenty. There was even a surau. I don’t remember seeing it there before. We skipped the bird show cause we have seen it a gazillion of times.

wp-1521968562102..jpg

There were deers and kancil almost everywhere. Also monkeys. Ee of course enjoyed the elephants. I, on the other hand was mesmerized with the shape of the giraffes pËnis. The giraffe looked ready to mate but it just wouldn’t get on with it. So I had to leave. Mr Husband loved the safari trail cause he could do his 10,000 steps on the pedometer. Baby Ninie was oblivious to her surroundings.

We finished our visit by 1140AM. Our parking coupon was well timed. Yeh, you need a coupon to park there. As always, the mandatory picture with the turtle statue before we head off for lunch at the nearby McDonalds.

The Birthday & Wedding Anniversaire Weekend

My nephew’s birthday bash was held at Sama Sama Hotel on the 30th December. It was a hi-tea get together. One of the best spreads I have to say. Too indulged in eating that I didn’t get to snap any photos of the food. macam biasa.. it is a mix of western and eastern dishes.

My sister arranged the perfect birthday celebration for her son – we had a clown coming to our table giving out balloons, them staff singing a birthday song while bringing his cake and so on. I  would be happy if I was this boy. Plus you get presents from everyone.

“ADIL.. please listen to your mother and love her with all your heart”

The Weekend Hi-Tea buffet is from 1200 Noon till 4PM.

Adults rate  RM 65. Children rate RM 45 . Unfortunately there is no senior citizen discount.

After the partay – my own party of 4 headed to Seremban for the anniversaire getaway. Brutally honestly speaking – I was not looking forward to go. I was not in a mood to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I know, it’s evil. I even hid a post that Mr Husband tagged me on Facebook from my timeline. That’s how not in the mood I was.

WHY MINCI WHY?

You may ask. Maybe it’s because I was physically tired (and in pain – nipple sore stuff). Emotionally drained. Lonely. No animated gossip. No one to have a proper conversation. Mr Husband busy, busy, busy with studies and locum (kesian kt owner katanya) Ha ha ha. Sometimes as a new mother, you just need an hour out of the day to do your own thing. Like doing proper exercise, sip coffee slowly, get properly dressed and stuff. Or even draft a blog post. Or paling cikai.. an IG story. Thats is one cause I think – did not get that one hour stuff as much as I’d envisioned it to be. Max is like 45 mins. Huhu.

Or maybe it’s because I want to celebrate it with just him. The Husband. Without the kids in the picture. I mean, we can bring the kids along to the hotel but you know, at least a Couple WefIe by the pool. Or a little muffin cake to share between us two. Something to remind ourselves that we were once head over heels over each other? That there was once an US before the kids come along. In retrospective, maybe I should have made the move tapi ntahlah.. perhaps on our anniversary I was waiting for Chivalry and Gallant to drop by with Romantic. ohhh.. I forgot. it’s because I’m the sweet one in this relationship. Which is why it did not happen. muekekeke.

Takpelah.. we will try again this year (2018) for our 8th anniversary. Perhaps by this time I makin sexy. Aummm..  oh no sister.. spacing sister..spacing..

Back to Seremban, we checked into this budget hotel, SUTERA HOTEL, that has a swimming pool with no dress code. Thus why its quite a favourite amongst us Malaysians yang suka main redah je. it was a 3D2N stay.

wp-1515272008303..jpg

Room was OK. breakfast buffet was adequate with the money we paid for , cuma the table arrangements made the restaurant a bit cramped. My obese tummy berlaga with the chairs. Like duh.. help.. I need to break free.

Location wise – AEON is nearby. A 2 minutes walk from the hotel – in case you need to find Pizza hut, KFC or McDonalds.

We did not get to eat the Nasi Arab. Baby Ninie is unable to stand long journey hours. Long would be more than 2.5 hours at a time. Wanting milk is fine. its when she poos it becomes a problem because some places do not have diaper changing facilities. Takkan nak tukar kat meja makan?? I don’t mind but what if my act was recorded and it went viral? DIE man DIe. So Mr Husband does the changing in places like these cause he can single handedly tonggeng the girl in the sink to wash the bum.

Babycall was not that bad. it was manageable but I’d rather do it at home. At least until she’s 4 to 5 months old?

yep, that’s about it. till the next post.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

the short trip to Johor Bahru

#throwback

If it was entirely up to me – I’d probably sleep my way from Saturday (postcall) to Monday. But Mr Husband has other plans and when he throws Ee into the picture like “kesian Ee cuti sekolah tak pergi mana2” _ I caved in. OK lah oklah… where are we going?

Merenung Jauh

JOHOR BAHRU

and I imagined having bowls and bowls of laksa johor. which I ended up did not having. *pilu*

For our short stay – we booked a room at Tropical Inn. Which is just opposite Double Tree HIlton guys. A contrasting picture indeed. Wished I took a photo. One old school, haunted look hotel and the other, very modern and posh.

Despite its ancient decor – our room was clean with complimentary breakfast. There was no bath tub to Ee’s dismay but there’s a mini fridge which was good enough. The location of the hotel is very near to the shopping mall and Pasar Karat. You can literally walk there in 10 mins unless you’re heavily pregnant like Yours Truly.

Air conditioning was inconsistent. Perhaps they switched it off temporarily at night during certain hours as sometimes you do wake up feeling either too cold or too warm.  To save electricity, maybe? Otherwise, the service and amenities were fulfilling the star ratings. If only the breakfast options were a bit more meriah.  ha ha

The highlight of the trip was a visit to Zoo Johor. Its a small zoo in the city and the entrance fee was super cheap. RM1 for kids and RM2 for adults. Most of the time I’d be sitting down on the benches while Ee and Mr Husband climb the many flights of stairs to see the lions or something. I just couldn’t manage it anymore. Generally, it was still a nice zoo where the whole family could enjoy a day out together with minimal budget.

As of food, Wak Radols satay is a must. Mr Husband seems to like it very much.

somehow we drove to a different branch of wak radol..

This time, we took the opportunity to try Sup Tulang Zz’s famous mee rebus. Each bowl was quite pricey. Taste-wise .. nasib baik sedap. tkdelah very marvelous but the dish kept the business going.

20170903_190801.jpg

And like any tourist, a picture around bandar JB is a must. We wanted to go to the night petting zoo but posing near the crown at the fountain was good enough. I thought the city was very pretty at night with all the LED lights. Very clean as well. If only we could stay longer but our jobs await. hmph.
