Johor Trip : Scholars Inn

I have always loved travelling. Be it just a two hour drive from Kuching to Sematan beach for a one night stay there. And I dont mind doing it alone. So when an opportunity came for me to attend a course on Obs & Gynae Life Saving Skills in HSAJB , I was super excited. And since Im not single anymore, its only natural that I try to include my family into this event as well. Something like a family trip.

We squeezed ourselves into my Saga FLX – atok, nenek, myself, Mr Husband and Baby Zeeq. We stayed at a hotel that most Johoreans appararently had never heard off. THE SCHOLARS INN.

Maybe because its located inside UTM itself rendering its rather ‘exclusive’ and ‘smart-sounding’ place of stay. Add an owl to the entrance, its almost like a modern Hogwarths. Most importantly the room rates were fairly reasonable. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for just less than MYR 200 and boy it was comfortable enough for the whole family to bunk in.

Theres no problem to find food either since there’s the Scholars Cafe. The service is a bit slow especially during peak hours but the food taste awesome. Or was I damn hungry that night?

Im pretty sure they had a mini gym as well but I didnt have time to check it out. Over all, Scholars Inn earned 5 Minci Stars.

Loreal UV Perfect BB Max cream

Yes, Im a doctor. But above all, Im a woman. Hurrah.

I made a promise to myself to look like the female characters in Grey’s Anatomy to work. The ‘so-natural-complexion-as-though-Im-not-wearing-makeup’ look. I honestly couldnt be bothered with it straight after maternity leave but last Friday, on my little trip to Guardian (with so many SALES in store), I decided it was time to just get one good cream that could function as having both skincare and cosmetic value. It was a choice between Maybelline, Simply Siti and L’oreal.

  • Maybelline seems amateurish. Now that Elfira Loy is the ambassador, the product just seems right for people ‘her age’.
  • Simply Siti was damn expensive
  • So it was L’oreal by default

L’oreals UV Perfect BB Max cream has a light texture. I did not feel anything sticking on my face and washing it off with wipes was a breeze. I certainly glowed as fair as an Elf that even Snow Whites stepmother would pay a huntsmen to kill me and get my heart. Now that Ive given it a go over the weekend, the next task is to use it routinely on a weekday.

A mothers love

May is the month for the merry. A season of love and thought. The time to give and share. On my calendar, May is joyous because of ;

  • Mothers Day
  • Nurses Day
  • Teachers Day
  • Good Friends Birthday ( Stella )
  • Mr Husbands Birthday

And the top of the list today is MOTHER’S DAY!!

We all love our mothers. We love how they’d cook for us, talk to us et cetera. I, for one is grateful towards Mother for one thing. She taught me how to read the words of the Quran. She taught me how to mengaji.She found us (her daughters) a good teacher who could guide us into reading the Quranic verses well. It was the most valuable ilmu that she could ever give me. Even a chocolate cake recipe have to settle at 2nd place.

Hence, on this special day .. I have placed an order for a cake and 3 stalks of roses through my favourite florist online.

I first heard of it through my best friend, Mimie during our studies in Manchester. She had wanted to send a birthday cake to her “then boyfriend,now husband” who was already in Malaysia.

From what I know, it is a Malaysian based website and service. It sells bouquets of flowers, cakes and mini gifts at a very reasonable price. Delivery was superbly punctual and the goods arrive in prime condition. I have used love.com to send mothers day and birthday cakes to my family for nearly 5 years now.

Hijabista is out!

I have never been so excited over a magazine before. After Readers Digest that is. The moment I read about its launch on , I have been hunting for a copy at my local newstores. I frequented the stores in Tesco and Aeon a couple of times. Only to be disheartened as I couldnt find a copy of it.. until today.

Mr Husband and I went to Melaka Mall for The Avengers movie and voila.. seated on the shelves of the newstand was a copy of Hijabista. I fought through the small crowd of ‘browsers’ and snatched the mag off the shelf. I didnt mind over the fact that the copy looked slightly dog-eared for what was important then was that : I FOUND IT! IT’S MINE!

Its an introduction edition, priced at MYR10.The  first ever edition would only be out by July 2012. Flicking through the magazine, I think it will have a very strong fanbase if they continue to serve wonderful articles and choices of fashion.

Movie : Battleship

I was half expecting that the Autobots would come to the rescue like halfway through the battle. But the win was done by humans themselves. It was a good movie. Meaning I didnt get bored. And here are my favourite scenes;

  1. As Hopper breaks into the convenience store for a Chicken Burrito.
  2. During the penalty kick as I guess, everyone anticipated a goal. Which didnt happen.
  3. Any scene that involves Rihanna.
  4. Part where Mic was thought to be a cyborg because of his mechanical legs
  5. The battle scenes
  6. The part where the veterens of war join in the fight!!!

Yah. Thats about it.
