The Bunga rampai episode

It’s July and I have only uploaded 8 Youtube videos this year. Probably because the focus is more towards my psychology studies. I am after all leaping into my final year already. Hoping to graduate by next year. It has been a great ride so far.

Anyway, my latest video is on this farewell party for a colleague at work and also on my brother’s reception dinner. Since I am using the Bunga Rampai track, naturally it has a copyright claim to it but well, it’s not that I am monetizing anything from these videos at the moment anyway.

I really love the mustard baju kurung I was wearing on that day. I loved the ruffles and the shoulder puffs a lot.

The work before the reception

My youngest brother’s wedding reception is happening this weekend. He has hired a wedding planner to organize the reception. Naturally, the outcome correlates with the budget given. They say it will be a peach & white concept with maroon attires. In the meantime, we siblings chip in from aspects of time, energy and other relevant matters.

Father ordered extra kueh for a santai corner. My sister was put in charge so I am helping her with the props. I have some pua kumbu tablecloths and table accessories laying around. She can use these props later after for her intermittent open houses. And just like any inspiration, they come by at the last minute. I ordered something from Sarawak. I am not sure if it will arrive in time. If it does, alhamdulilah.. if it doesn’t then it is not meant to be. Hidup ni tak susah.

My daughter excited looking at pics of her uncles when they were little

Father put me in charge of the reservations placards which is not much to do once you have Canva, a printer and pretty paper. So I have settled my part. I have other ideas regarding the door gift area but I’ll have to see the setup first at the hall the night before the reception. Our door gifts are honey jars for the adults and honey sticks for the kids. Father ordered a few extravagant plates for his VVIP guests whilst my sister and I ordered Beryl products for the family coming from Terengganu, Melaka, Sarawak and the team involved. We have yet to inform him about it.

My brother, Danial’s role, is to shuttle the relatives coming to the wedding. And attend to their needs.

This is just a brain-dump post. There will be better pictures later.

Matrimony of MatinxHannan

My youngest brother, Matin is officially married. The akad was done at Ayer Hitam with only the closest family members present in the hall. We are not a big family. Our core is made up of only four siblings with 2 of us already married with kids. So that kind of helped with the numbers. Our relatives are in Kuching. So, travelling cost is an issue. It would have been easier if I was a billionaire to fly them all out but I’m obviously not.

As an older sister, I naturally have concerns about how my brother is going to lead, feed and build his family. However, he is an adult and I’m sure he’d have to sort life out on his own and his significant other. I mean we have all been there at the start of a marriage, not knowing what to do and all. We all find our way. As a sibling, all we have to do is be there for support and guidance.

My father, brother and sister stayed at a homestay near the wedding hall. I on the other hand travelled from Melaka that same morning. Then, we had breakfast at the same homestay before going to the hall as a small entourage to witness the union.

I really like the couple’s outfit here. They look great. Matin’s hantaran for Hannan was a tower of Cadbury chocolates, cupcakes, a pair of shoes, a cute handbag and a beauty set. Matin received a few ‘man’ things in return. The hantaran was curated by my creative brother-in-law.

The reception on our part will be in the next two weeks. That will be the time when we get really busy. I need to get some extra stuff for our relatives who will be coming all the way from Kuching. At the same time, I need to make sure my assignments are submitted on the dot.

Congratulations, my brother. Welcome to the family Hannan.

Youngest brother is engaged

Last month my brother got engaged to the woman of her dreams.

I am just relieved that the lady is not mengada and gives us a headache. She seems to come from a humble family. In short, we adore her. The engagement ceremony was held at the lady’s residence in Ayer Hitam. Since Mother has passed away, I am kind of the next in line to place the ring on the lady’s finger. Our relatives are all in Kuching. Dad had to get his friends to come with him as part of the entourage.

The ceremony was quick and simple.

By simple, there is no extravagant backdrop or anything. It was something that we, the sisters went through as well. A short and sweet occasion. Followed by eating. Our side gifted the lady with a set of AlQuran and prayer garments, a rolled cake, a fruit basket and a ring. We look forward to the akad nikah ceremony in June.
