This little fish tries to explain but in vain …

“I consider conversations with people to be mind exercises, but I don’t want to pull a muscle, so I stretch a lot. That’s why I’m constantly either rolling my eyes or yawning.”

Jarod Kintz

Ahhh.. if only, oh if only I could do that to my patients relatives. Its so frustrating when you make an effort to explain progress and plans of treatment to the relatives or one relative, only to have another dozen behind that one person asking to re-explain the situation again.

And when I asked why the need for such exercise.. they’ll say, the earlier person did not understood in the first place.

In my opinion, the earlier person is just being lazy, or perhaps to be blunt.. an idiot and a coward rolled in one. Kindly take responsibility of the knowledge that have been bestowed onto you.

Getting all frenzy on the farm

This game was installed to our units computer by one of the staff and us, Medical Officers have been using it as a ‘getaway’ from the stresses that arises within the unit. Much to my addiction, I have decided to install the game into my computer and this is where Im at , at the moment.

I have also learnt a few things from this game;

  1. When you have money  – you dont have the buy/upgrade everything. Just choose what you intend to purchase well. Weigh the risk and benefits. Despite the wisdom of not to overspend, sometimes you do have to fork out all the cash just so you could generate more income, faster!
  2. When you dont have money – you have to work from scratch. Start by rearing chickens and move upwards. And eventhough the ultimate goal is to say, buy a cow.. you have to make the chickens work hard for you.
  3. Its possible to meet the deadline.a.k.a the time limit. Only if you manage to prioritise your investments strategically.
  4. You may not get the idea of things the first time round. Unlike Life, there’s always a Restart button for this game.
  5. To progress, you must be willing to splurge some cash. Kaching!!

I have also been trying out the Zombie & Plants game. Likewise, a strategy sort of game. Now, if only I could get my hands of a free copy. That would be fun. Then we’ll see which one is more fun.

You’re not fit to be a specialist until you WOW me!

An Emergency Department (ED) specialist came to our little district hospital for a visit today. I was WOWed. Im not often WOWed regardless if the person in question is a specialist with a sub. But today I was.

Just as much I was WOWed when I first met my HOD during my anaesthetic attachment as a houseman. These ladies deserve the grade theyre in. And they both have all my respect as I know it aint easy to get to where they are today.

Pre bonus day

While some people are actually taking leaves on Bonus Day tomorrow… there are civil servants like myself still at work, fulfilling my responsibilities.

It was my 1st day of work today after being on leave for a fortnight. I had a grande time at home with my siblings and of course in the company of my son, Toddler Zeeq. It was also mentally daunting and exhausting when it comes to actually work.

So I tried to fool myself to be positive by getting into the IMAM MOSit mindset. I reminisced on the gems and pearls of the wiser people. I started to think of my end destination. Yes, and it doesnt involve being a specialist.

The Transfer

“Go where the wind takes you.

Have fun”

Its goes without saying, that a Doctors Wife would inevitably have to endure the fact that long distance relationship or the accepted term nowadays, the Weekend Wife/Husband is going to happen one day. While Mr Husband may not have the option to choose where he’s be posted, the least we could do is to make sure the absence makes the heart go fonder. In one way or the other.

His concern was Baby Zeeq might forget who his father is.

My concern was I would get too comfortable not having him around till I end up … neglecting him.

He didnt ask for this transfer and yet he got it. His colleagues who have been applying for a transfer to a similar state however, did not receive any offer. Last we heard, the polyclinics were saturated with these Medical Officers, hence the sudden ‘clean-up’ to sort the mess up. Thus, the random selection of names. Rubbing salt to the injury, we have just bought our first little home.

Honestly, I did not build this family to be separated. At least not with my husband. I am happy to allow my children to go boarding school. But when a husband gets so called ‘deported’, its a different feeling. Especially when the transfer is uncalled for.

He is currently making an appeal to stay put.

Our fingers are crossed for the best outcome. Ameen.
