Perhaps there was a demand as lately I noticed that my local grocer, Family Store in Kip Mall have been selling flower bouquets in an affordable price range. The choices are not extravagant but it is still a nice feeling to have fresh flowers albeit mild scents in the house from time to time. I picked up a bouquet selection like this one at only RM7.20.
It is now sitting nicely in my kitchen by the window in a thermos vase. I do not have the cap for the thermos anymore hence repurposed as a mini vase. I hope these flowers could last me for a week as it is a luxury I could afford once in a blue moon. Still wishing hard for more local florists to spring up in my area.

My sister, brother in law and dad shares the same birthday month and this year I plan to make it a special event. My preparation started almost a month before the planned long weekend. The big theme is to have a birthday bash in a bungalow that has a pool.
I decided to book a villa in Famosa Resort, Alor Gajah through Airbnb.

I managed to secure a nice, modern looking house at a 50% offer rate at RM563.37/ night including tax and service fee. The accommodation has 5 airconditioned rooms, a small kitchen, a kiddie pool + adult pool, a BBQ area and most importantly a karaoke machine.

We swam in the pool until our skin shrunk like dried raisins.
Most of the villas here have their respective owners but we came to realize that they also have caretakers which help to maintain the house. Ours were using the services of Azra Maintenance. This company is like the housekeeping service in hotels. They clean up after each visit including the pool and such. Hence, being able to provide clean towels and mini soap bars to guests.
Have you tried Airbnb? Sign up with my link and you will get up to RM165 off your first trip.

Prior to checking in, we spent a few hours at the nearby Safari Wonderland. I purchased our tickets online at a discounted flat rate of RM28/person. The queue to redeem the ticket however was a pain in the arse. People were cutting line like no ones business. I had to speak up at one point. Thankfully, there was no altercation. The culprit acknowledged the mistake but stayed in the line in front of everybody nonetheless. The Safari was small and very hot. Some of the animals looked like they need more food, interaction and jungle-like atmosphere. We managed to catch the bird show and made a really quick trip to monkey island.
Lunch was at the nearby outdoor eatery Cendol Bakar.

I pre-ordered the birthday cake 3 days in advance from Aniss Kek House which has a physical store at KipMall Bachang.

I bought a 9″ Russian Black and White cake for RM90. It was delicious. We had to cut the cake early at my place because we couldn’t transport the cake to the villa without risking it melting in the car.

I also planned a birthday bouquet surprise with my brother in law for my sister. I requested an extra parachute chocolate bouquet for my dad as well. Alhamdulilah we managed to find a seller on Instagram who could deliver to our villa.
Bellablossom also have an FB account.
The price for each unit including delivery was RM100/unit. Both September babies had no inkling at all of the surprise. My brother in law was so pleased with himself as we collaborated in the surprise. HA ha ha.

InsyaAllah this will give me the right momentum to plan a birthday party for both of my kids end of this year. Ninie will have something with wings whilst Ee will have a superhero element to his party. Wish me luck.
I’m a newbie in washi tape. I have only got to know about them since 2015. I bought my few first rolls from aliexpress. Many months later I discovered washi tape sellers in our local scene. My current favourite is Lootersbox. I really hope they would open a physical store in Melaka one day and conduct workshops and such. I would be their regular customer and buy something on a weekly basis even though they’re just sticker flakes.
Last Wednesday I went to Kinokuniya KLCC to check out the MT Washi Tape pop up store.

I salute Youtubers who could produce content on a regular basis on their channel. I think it requires courage and be a bit shameless on your part to actually hold out your camera in public to capture a moment. I am a bit shy on that part which is an obstacle, I think, if you intend to be a Youtuber or successful lifestyle blogger. But it’s ok, it is a learning curve for a jaded writer like myself. There is always a price to pay for being successful but let’s hope it is all worth it yahh..

I spent just below RM300 in Kinokuniya alone on the washi tapes and FLOW magazine. I figured since this is an annual event for MT, I should splurge within my means and save more money again for next year’s convention. After all, I did miss the ones they had in Pavillion last year.
If I were to include my petrol, toll and duit makan all… I’d say the trip to Kay Ell is about RM500. Thank Allah for pay day the next day. Regardless, I am a happy lady. A happy mom. A happy wife. Not so happy to get back to work the next day though.

I told him that I believe there is a biochemistry pathway as to how these oils work, only we haven’t got enough research or trials to measure its effectiveness. Which results in us, healthcare professionals not being able to endorse it as having medicinal properties to cure a certain ailment. And as we all know, testimonies are the lowest form of evidence in science although ironically, in modern society, it ranks the highest.
I am convinced of such pathways (existing benefits) because of two scenarios I’ve experienced in my life.
I am very particular on which oils I take internally because for me Natural is not always safe. Unless they’re from credible sources. I mean, if you were lost in a jungle, are you confident to eat every single fruit/leaf there just because it’s natural? Tak kan.. so we should use the same approach for oils. Yes, I know that the plants of which we extract the oils from are not alien or less than strange but still, until thorough research is done, as a person trained in medicine and does not wish for my licenses to be revoked, I would really like to know its Therapeutic Index. We will get there one day, doTERRA! I believe in you!
So far, I feel safe ingesting the citrus groups. I have no qualms when it comes to putting a drop of lemon in my tea. Or grapefruit in my drinking water. What more wild orange in my hot chocolate. But I am a bit wary of oils I am not familiar with. So I take a step back, read a bit and make an informed choice. Perhaps later, I will gain confidence to try the others.

Next month is my birthday and since I am a member on the Loyalty Rewards Programme (LRP), I cannot wait to redeem my free birthday oil. I hope it is a good one. 10 months into doTERRA, I do feel that it has brought on significant changes to my life. Despite the many perceptions that it is expensive,to me it is a long term investment for ones health. If you know how to manipulate your LRP and purchases, you can actually save a lot over the months and gradually years. Even if you spend less than RM250 per month, or RM50.. on the LRP programme, you can still gather the rewards.
Take a look at these oils from my personal collection.

Each oil here cost less than RM100, a few less than RM50. I can actually be on the LRP programme and 50PV worth of oils monthly to get at least 10% back in product points from my purchase, which I can collect and redeem within a year to get free oils. The maximum percent I can get back is 30% and that is worth a lot of oils.
I am currently curating my LRP order for August. I have just a few points under 100PV to finish off and I am thinking of getting a Jasmine DT roller for my point redemption items. It’s one of those expensive ones. LOL. I just wish doTERRA would have more diffusers. Especially the cute ones for kids bedroom. At a reasonable price! I would definitely buy one. Or two. Maybe 3. he he
