Parcel Kasih Sayang : Edisi Ramadhan 1437H

PARCEL RAMADHAN

These parcels are my token of love and friendship to these girls. Who are professionals in their own field expanding their career. Who are also Mothers and Wives in their own rights. I hope to do this every year for as long as I live. So they know that they’ll always have someone to lean on in times of despair. And so their children may also get to know an aunt that goes by the name of Minci.

This year’s goodies include;

Baby Care package for my dear sister Aunty L

I think I spent more on my sister than my nephew when it comes to filling the Baby Care box. Love her loads.

Things I bought for my sister;

  • Loads of parenting magazines
  • Milk booster formula
  • Nipple pad
  • Breast Milk Storage Bags
  • A new headscarf
  • Nursing pillow

The new nephew

  • A newborn set of clothes, caps and mitten (kinda like.. thats it)
  • Mini shoes
  • Angpow for Tabung Haji

The infants big brother

  • TOBOT pyjamas
  • A set of dayclothes
  • A colouring and activity book featuring BOboiBoy

One can become a mother to say, 7 children but in truth every pregnancy and birth is different with every little munchkin that comes with it. My younger sister experienced another failed induction of labor – so on top of contraction pains, she also had to endure the postoperative pain of her Cesarean section. She also had a hilarious embarrassing moment with a male House Officer (HO).. ha ha.

Since we live a few states away, I could only manage some intense dua and ‘acts of deeds’ on her name and my sister in laws name ( who is also expecting a baby in the same week) … hoping that Allah will reward these deeds or Sedeqah by bestowing upon them His Blessings with a smooth and safe delivery.

Alhamdulilah.. my two ladies pulled through.

Mini Project : 5R at home

The country has been implementing new rules when it comes to household waste handling. There’s a lot of effort going into RECYCLING your goods and waste.

The intention is good. I want it to remain pure and beneficial.

While I sort my rubbish for ‘free’ – I understand that some people collect and sell these recyclable items in return for cash. I don’t mind. Take them if you need the money for yourself or for a fund.

But please do not turn my garbage inside out, making a mess while at it for I have also made the extra effort to keep my waste manageable, sorted and clean for my local waste handlers to pick it up. It’s a form of RESPECT to their jobs as this is how they earn a living and put food on the table.

End of Year Mini Party and also a mini anniversary at Billionaire Concept Cuisine Restaurant

It was one of those urges to just feed the people. Feed my team. Feed my ‘surrogate family’. So I decided to throw a mini party. No potluck. No speech. No proper boss – just us little people in the unit having a bit of fun and mingling. Plus I haven’t been going to a party or a gathering for a while. I do admit that I’d be absent on purpose most of the time because at these events involving more than 10 people – the introvert side of myself tends to take control. I just don’t feel like socializing unless I’m really in my comfort zone in the right circle of people.

I wanted to have balloons and decor – but it took too much effort. And thinking. Plus I was post-call. Train of thought was honestly ‘lum-py’ at the time. I bought mostly jajan and air kotak. I had my nurse buy simple breakfast for the day.

Within seconds – word passed around …

“there’s food in the MO room”

I gave my female colleagues a face mirror each. My dear medical officers have one too – cute little hearts.

Later in the evening Mr Husband and I celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary at Billionaire Concept Cuisine Restaurant at Taman Lagenda. Here, they only take CASH. Being a woman who prefers carrying a debit card – I had to korek2 celah kerusi and sofa for hidden stash.

We ordered the fish and chip, macaroni and cheese, kids meal (meatballs + free juice), apple juice and raspberry lime citrus drink. It totalled up to less than RM65. I thought the portion was huge and worth the price. The drinks were expensive and not much of a choice unless you’re into all those hipster sinful sugary drinks which have caramel, oreo and whipped cream in one mug. The meal tasted OK as a whole – Mr Husband commented that the mac & cheese tasted like the ones he had in Russia as a student, so it must have tasted good. Ee finished his meatballs and his juice  – so thats a good sign too.

Snailmail – a birthday greeting

happy bday kakjet.. hope you enjoy the 3D card

I am sending my ex-housemate a 3D birthday card. She’s married now with 2 lovely kids. Her birthday falls on the 1st of Jan – on New Years day.

If only POSMALAYSIA has a vending machine for stamps. That will be grand. Memang muka aku jelah beli setem kat mesin.

*updated : a kind reader just messaged me privately regarding Postal Automated Machine (PAM) in Malaysia which provides a similar service. Thank you for the info!!!
