Online Store : Mr Lens .. again

My trusted courier service [read: POSMALAYSIA] delivered a wonderful package from MrLens.Com yesterday. My box of contact lenses were packed nicely in a box and also secured in a ziplock bag!! I collect these gems – they can be useful while travelling to hold my passports. He he. And of course those cute personal touches – this time a lollipop although I loved the gummy bears more.

As usual, I bought my monthly supply of contact lenses. My favourite so far is the Blincon brand specifically in Sweetie Brown and Freshkon Alluring Eyes in Winsome Brown. This time around I decided to try something new and purchased the Freshkon Mosaic. Well, it has been around in the market for more than a year but I have yet to try it as they were not much honest raving reviews from normal bloggers as opposed to the Butterfly bloggers.

Butterfly bloggers  = those who write on beauty related stuff and what not

Having being convinced of its natural and blending features especially in Asian women – through blog posts by non butterfly bloggers and as evident by photos taken by only then the butterfly bloggers, I decided to give it a go. Plus, they are on promotion on the site.

Pictures will have to come later. I have a big big event to go cover as a medical team this evening.

It would be nice if you could purchase the lenses through my affiliate link . See you around. Bye.

Review : Photobook with Foto-Zzoom

This is a Sticky Post. For new post, please scroll down.

I am a fan of photobooks. Especially after seeing my own wedding photos eternalized in a pretty, thick book back in 2010. The photos won’t be torn, smudged or damaged in any way unless the book itself caught fire. Since then, I have been eye-ing on a few sites which offer these services and lately I came across Foto-Zzoom.

Foto-Zzoom allows customers to create their photobook in less than 15 minutes. I mean who would have time to actually sit down in front of the computer for hours playing editor. Not to mention the pain of having to adjust the settings and size of the pictures especially on photos with poor resolutions. Well, at Foto-Zzoom they will try to solve the headache for you as you order the book in 3 simple steps.

1. Choose the size and design of the book.

fz1

2. Key in your personal and payment details

fz2

3. Upload your pictures. Do bear in mind that the ‘ORDER NOW’ button would not light up until you have sufficient number of photos uploaded based on the size of the photobook you chose. Having done that, all you have to do is sit back and relax while the designing team does the editing for you. This will take a few days.

fz3

Once that is done, they will send you a link for the finished product to your email so you may review and discuss amendments (if any) with the team before it gets published.

fz4

The photobook was couriered by City-Link and it arrived on my doorstep safe and sound in one beautiful masterpiece. Even Pekanbaru doesn’t look as mundane as how it was during our little family trip few months ago.

A photobook would look great on anybody’s coffee table. If you place your order now, you will get discounts as the site is having a promotion with the upcoming Raya. Have fun!

Nasi Bujang Senang – Restoran Seri Kenyalang

This is a sponsored post.

Restoran Seri Kenyalang first opened in April 2015 . Currently it is run by the man himself, Mr Khairul who hails from Terengganu and is married to Puan Nora, a Sarawakian. To be precise, my younger sister. Yes, she is paying me for this post in kind. ha ha.

The restaurants signature meals include ;

  • Nasi Goreng Kenyalang  –  which is essentially dabai fried rice
  • Laksa Sarawak
  • Tomyam Kelapa – they serve the tomyam in coconut shell
  • Nasi Budget –  the cheapest form of rice dish available for only RM3.50. It has white rice, chicken and vegetables.
  • Coconut Shake

In Ramadhan however, RSK is closed but it has a pop-up stall at Bazaar Equine, Seri Kembangan. They are selling at Site 32 and the head cook a.k.a. the owner had this brilliant idea of making a simple iftar dish. It’s called Nasi Bujang Senang.

It is basically white rice + turmeric chicken + vege + sambal + kicap manis Jalen. And they are selling it for RM4.00/pax. It’ll be suitable for Buka Puasa Ramai2 or Sedeqah. Do visit them at Bazaar Ramadhan Taman Equine Sri Kembangan today!!

Jovial jolly jolly

Today everybody was in a good mood. Almost every hour ( in between patients) we were laughing over a joke, a ghost story that went wrong, a case which is shitty but funny all the same. Perhaps its because we are on full manpower today. No one on leave. No one went for a course. No one ‘mengular’.

We were all a happy family. Like siblings kidding with each other.

And another business card arrived from my trusted online biz-card maker : PHOTOBOOK MALAYSIA.

This time it is for my sister’s little restaurant. RESTORAN SERI KENYALANG.

I hope she likes it.

Crispy Battered Fish, Taman Lagenda Malacca

For the past 2 weeks, my little family have grown so accustomed to not being in a space physically together for not more than 6 hours a day (minus sleeping hours) that I find it a bit awkward to enjoy this free weekend. A weekend without wedding invitations, no family gatherings, no errands to run.. in short nothing major. Just the 3 of us in the house lazing around. I am not even post-call although I did have a terrible night shift. Instead of clocking out at midnight, I had to leave an hour late – driving under the moon back home.

After Fajr prayers, I slept in. I woke up horrified at 10 am to see Mr Husband and The Son return from the grandmother’s place fresh from breakfast and a shower. I battled through folding the piling fresh laundry only to realize I have another basket of dirty laundry to wash. It just never stops right…

Lunch – I decided – was to have it outside. I have no kudrat to cook. We chose a place very close to home. The Crispy Battered Fish at Taman Lagenda.

Although it had no clear signage mentioning its Halal status and it’s Facebook page it seems were dominated by reviews in the chinese language, I was convinced it was Halal. Plus the management team did say that they attended a course in handling halal food – just the certificate has not been granted.

It was helpful to see its banner spelled out Selamat Datang in jawi. It was reassuring in a way to know they have no pork or lard on their premises. It was clear that the owner was a non muslim but I am happy that they took all necessary measures to ensure their Muslim customers feel safe to consume the food at Crispy Battered Fish.

The interior was posh and ‘deceiving’ – you know how some people are reluctant to enter a restaurant that looks too posh. But hey, if it makes you feel any better, the price range is pretty much like The Windmill Station in Bukit Beruang. So try relate to that.

This joint serves mainly fish with a side dish of either the buttered rice or french fries -which are air grilled. They also serve other Western dishes like spaghetti etc..

Mr Husband had the black pepper chicken chop with Iced Lemon Tea. I had the Grilled Dory with Mushroom and Cheese sauce with fries and broccoli. Hazeeq had the garlic bread and mushroom soup. I had the promo RM1 Iced honey green tea beverage.

The total bill amounted to RM41.30. NO GST. No service tax.

I think this place is worth checking out especially when you’re craving for fish. The menu is children friendly and the space is gorgeous. They also take reservations for those coming in a big group. If only the drink-making counter could be more secluded. It just looked weird behind the cashier. Otherwise, there is plenty of free parking space at the area so you could enjoy your meal and socialize for hours there without worrying of getting a ticket.
