That meal costs me MYR 30.00 at one of Mitsui Outlet Park’s restaurants. It’s grilled salmon. Urgh.. if only salmon is readily available at the pasar and murah. Unfortunately it is not. so hadap saja. I managed to burn a hole in my pocket as I got myself trapped in the New Year Stock Clearance game.

Mr Husband saw my new 2 pairs of shoes. And 2 bottles of Elianto body mist. I managed to hide my 3 outfits in the wardrobe.

He on the other hand, brought back a few kilos of fresh prawns for me all the way from Sabah. I also have 2 pretty pearl bracelets (love it!) and plenty of snacks I’m not crazy about. Why does he feed me these strange keropok.. *terjelepuk ke lantai, roll eyes*

The gesture, I have to admit is kind of romantic. Only it did not come with a manja2 embrace or any behaviour of that sort. It was a simple, “nah.. ko nyer”. Muekekeke. Definitely not TV3 or Astro Ria male lead drama material eyy..

Last weekend we ate and ate

Seoul Garden with the family happened last weekend. Mr Husband said it was the longest eating session he has ever sat in. 90 mins of munching food guys. It was not normal in his family.Ha ha. I had to excuse myself early because of my small bladder and abdominal cramps. Plus I wanted to do some window shopping at TYPO. Besides, Mr Husband can mingle longer with the inlaws right? He he.. muka redha..

Then this is dinner today. Leftovers from yesterday and freshly fried omellete with tomyam.

I must have missed the memo or skipped the chapter on “how to be the most wonderful sister in the world’ when I made Danial the Tomyam udang. He is apparently allergic to seafood. Like really? I honestly thought I saw him dunk a prawn in the soup at Seoul Garden the other day. Or maybe I thought I did.

He finished the cauliflower in the tomyam though – I told him I’ll finish up the prawn later.

After dinner, I did some loud reading with my son. He needed to improve on his English pronunciation. He is doing fine so far – English is not our main speaking language at home but its good for school and reading generally. He is currently on book 2B of the Peter & Jane series. I need to make a timetable to chart out his progress and aims. I’m giving it 3 months? Would that be reasonable? We’ll see.

Laksa Sarawak Party

Dear friends. Thank you for spending some of your precious time with me today. For fitting me into your busy schedule.

I have had this party on my mind sometime – fumbling on when would be the right moment to host it. It will after all be my first ever party ever since I’ve stayed at this house.

After all – with what happened recently, I feel that if you want to do something, say something – go ahead. Before its too late.

I had most of the things I needed at home. I just need a few extra stuff to make this ‘makan2’ thing look kinda like a party. Thank God I have my brother Danial to help out. I started cooking at 2PM and alhamdulilah.. my doors are open by 630PM. My son and I managed to send a voicemail to Mr Husband who is outstation for a few days just before my guests came.

Menu was simple. Laksa for adults. Macaroni for kids. Bits of nuggets. Jelly. IceCream. Pizza. Toys at the play area. Hihi..

The party ended promptly by 930PM and plenty of food were sent to my workplace for those who could not join in. Alhamdulilah Allah for giving me the opportunity to give Sedekah and strengthen friendship today. Will there be another time in the future for my favourite girls plak…. hmm..

Bonding over rebonding

It was my sister’s idea to get together one weekend to just ‘do our  hair’. Postpone it any longer people would think that we are related to Mak Limah from Kampung Pisang. Both of us planned to get Rebonding for our locks of miserable hair. Mother on the other hand, had a haircut + treatment. This particular saloon we went to was called Lisa Hair  Saloon. It has 2 branches. We went to the one at Putra Heights as opposed to the one in Bandar Saujana Putra.

It was a 3 hour job for ours and just above 2 hours for mother.

The hairdresser gave us a good head, neck and back massage. Like wow.. I want to keep her. Her superior managed to persuade us to go home with a few hair related purchases. It comes with a free gift of course.

Rebonding = RM 200.00 x 2

Shampoo + Conditioner = RM 50.00 (after discount) x 2

FREE 2 Travel Sets + 1 FREE Hair Serum

Wash + Cut + Treatment  = RM 78.00

Post saloon session we had a hearty lunch. Gossiping over stuff. Catching up on things. Then a phone call came through for my mother. It was a friend of hers. My sister and I could tell that she has a wonderful day as she kept saying to her friend that she went to the saloon with her daughters on a replay every 5 mins or so. ha ha ha.

That was when I realized that even though to me it was just a brief ‘buat rambut’ session – to my mother it meant the world. See how joy can come in the little things we do or say? Try bringing some coconut shake on your next visit. 😛
