Ramadhan with Kulsocs

This is a sticky post. Scroll down for new posts, if any.

10 years a go, a handsock is merely a black or skin coloured piece of cloth a lady uses to cover her forearms. Nowadays, handsocks have become trendier and becomes a staple fashion accessory for any muslimah in putting together their outfit. Even I, myself have fallen victim to this fashion wave. KULSOCS made this possible.

Above picture is of me in a dark blue (code P002) handsock. It was priced at rm15/pair. Of course, I’m no celebrity for you to believe  how comfortable and interesting this piece of clothing is. In fact, the handsocks are far from boring as they come in a variety of colours, patterns and textures.

Perhaps one of our Msian sweethearts, Nora Danish could convince you in a way or another in the video below.

Convinced yet? Jump on the handsock bandwagon now!

Happy Parcels from Kakjet & OwnDesignBook

Imagine dragging yourself to work because you didn’t get enough rest over the weekend and suddenly.. TADA... 2 parcels were there on your work table ready to be unwrapped and explored.

My first parcel came from a good friend – Kakjet. Previously as part of my ‘parcel kasih sayang project’, I have been sending her and 3 other ladies the occasional goodies parcel just so you know –  make them happy. The contents range from books, shawls, food or silly stuff like pencil cases, pens etc.. I wasn’t expecting anything in return because I’ve been doing it for years now, hence it does come as a surprise to receive a cute little parcel from her. With a note from her son and daughter!

Full of skincare products .. and a shawl. Perhaps she is a fan of the Melaleuca product – I am keen to try that soap which is packaged like a chocolate bar and the lip balm (it smells so nice)

My second parcel was from an Instagram Seller : OwnDesignBook

I’ve heard good reviews about her service through friends who ordered their personalized notebooks from her. The only catch is you have to wait as most of her items are pre-ordered. To be honest, I don’t mind.

Some positive reviews online;

Planner 2016 by Sofie Adie

Birthday present – Nabila Medan

Custom Made Book – Syira Lokman

I ordered the Stickers Package Set at RM65 including postage. I placed my order through Watsapp which she replied promptly. After making the necessary payments online, I sent her ‘proof of payment’ to her email and basically wait. And tawakal.

The items arrived within the next two weeks and she was very kind to inform me when she delivered the package together with the tracking number.

Now I have enough stickers to last me for at least a year!!!

the blind faith by paperdorable

First of all, please click play on the video and listen on …

Last week I decided to purchase The Blind Faith (silver) Bundle from Paperdorable after seeing Perempuan Jomblo got hers on Instagram. This package was supposed to be filled with little surprises from the stationary and kawaii department. You don’t get to choose what goes in the bag. All you can do is wait for it to arrive and act surprised!!

I received a lot of cute pens – that was the whole idea right? I was more thrilled to receive the paper products and masking tape though. Perhaps I should explore more of the planner and stationery scene here in Malaysia and find the more suitable retailer to satisfy my needs for a variety of sticky notes, memo pad and such.

That capsule like pill is a pen – one of my favourites I have to say. of course I loved the sticky notes more.

I was delighted when they included the masking tape in the bundle.

The elephant pencil case was adorable. I intend to use it tomorrow. I think these pens should be able to last for the next 6 months. Rasa sayang mok guna pun ada.. but hey, you can always get another bundle afterwards. Perhaps you could try the Gold Bundle next.

Thank you paperdorable

Home cooked food – Kimchi Fried Rice

It’s the Awal Muharam public holiday today and I am very relieved to not be oncall.

Special occasions like this are usually times when ‘home chefs’ get a break from the kitchen. Eat at the restaurant or something. I on the other hand had a particular craving for something Korean to eat. So we stayed in and had home cooked food. I whipped up KImchi Bokkeumbap for lunch  – in other words Nasi Goreng Kimchi.

I bought my Kimchi through a local online seller. The IG account looked legit @kimchimalaysia. In conjunction with #mycybersale2015, it costs RM22 for 500g worth of kimchi (discount yay!). I had the kimchi as a side dish, as bits in my cucur/cekodok ..  I gave part of it to my Mother-in-Law just in case she wants a taste of the kimchi as well. The few final spoons were used for my fried rice. I managed to finish the kimchi in less than a week. Sedap sangat!!

Recipes are everywhere. I basically had garlic, splashes of oyster sauce and kimchi in the rice. It tasted OK. Very sour. it leaves this zing! in your mouth on your tongue after the meal.

I will definitely order this again when the next craving strikes!

Review : Handsocks from Kulsocs

I love to buy anything online which has a proper merchandise website. Meaning a proper checkout cart, easy payment system and of course trusted courier service. Which is why Instagram may not be my best place to shop cause you to have to WatSApp or Private Message the seller and this can be a headache and ‘suspicious’. Having this in mind, during #mycybersale2015 week, I bought hand socks from Kulsocs.

The hand socks come in 2 different lengths 19cm/30cm and of various designs. I just wish that Kulsocs would consider the idea of manufacturing hand socks longer than 30 cm to cover the upper arms. It would be great to wear with T shirts.

It is as simple as clicking your items to put them in the cart. I made my payment online and had the digital proof of payment receipt uploaded to the site. I received my parcel in less than 10 days as the company delivers twice a week.

This is me wearing the Glitter Hand socks in Purple (G010) with my baju kurung. If I were any plump-ier, I don’t think the handsock would fit properly as this was snug enough for myself.

I really hope that Kulsocs would continue to become more adventurous in producing more designs and lengths of course. It would be a disappointment if they become content with the current designs they have in the web. Young mothers still wants to look hip and cool at work and also while jalan2. He he.
